LETCHER, MARGIE E., 83, of Louisville, passed away Sunday, February 20, 2011.

She was retired from Fawcett Printing Company.

She is survived by two daughters, Susan Tedder (Marshall) and Martha Hinton; a son Donald Letcher (Susan); sisters Betty McMillan and Debbie Poe (Gerald); a brother, Tommy Massie; 12 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson and was preceded in death by her husband, Gaylord.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Heady-Hardy Funeral Home, 7710 Dixie Hwy. Visitation will be Tuesday from 2 – 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Margie Letcher to the Kentucky School for the Deaf.

Jerry Lee Owens, age 69, of CCC Trail, Morehead, Kentucky, husband of Barbara Sue Purnell Owens, passed away Wednesday, February 23, 2011, at Cabell Huntington Hospital in Huntington, West Virginia.

Born September 12, 1941, in Cincinnati, Ohio, he was the son of the late John and Bertha Craft Owens. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Sonny Owens and Billy Owens.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Barbara Sue Purnell Owens, whom he married November 26, 1966; one son, Jack Lee Owens of Grayson, Kentucky; one daughter, Babetta Dailey and husband Wayne of Olive Hill, Kentucky; and two grandsons, Carson Matthew Dailey and Jason Wayne Dailey.

Other survivors include two brothers, George and Jo Owens of Covington, Kentucky, and Tim and Cecil Owens of Florence, Kentucky; five sisters, Rosie McCarver of Orange, Texas, Violet and Ray Garneu of Fort Mitchell, Kentucky, Linda and Tim Paynter of Cold Springs, Kentucky, Wanda and Don Lawerance of Aurora, Indiana, Darlene and Buck Cullum of Newport, Kentucky; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Jerry was a graduate of the Danville School for the Deaf. He was a retired pressman for the Cincinnati Enquirer after more than 20 years of service.

Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday, February 27, 2011, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Rev. Jim Varney officiating. Burial will follow in the Ditney Cemetery.

Pallbearers: George Owens, Tim Owens, Jack Owens, Matthew Dailey, Jason Dailey, Elmo Stigall, Jr., Matt Hildreth, and Ryan Hildreth. Honorary pallbearers: Willie Dailey, Emery Purnell, and Jon Winters.

Visitation is after 5 p.m. Saturday, February 27, 2011, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, Morehead, Kentucky.

HAMMONS Rondall Eugene Hammons, 68, of Gahanna, passed away Tuesday February 22, 2011 at St. Ann’s Hospital. Retired from Buckeye Boys Ranch and Lee Corporation in Cincinnati, OH. Member and Tru…stee of Liberty Baptist Church of the deaf for 24 years. Preceded in death by father Joseph Hammons and brother Dwaine Hammons. Survived by wife, Etta D. Hammons; children, Barry (K.C.) Hammons and Darrell (Kristy) Hammons, both of Cincinnati, OH., Bonnie Schmidt of Gahanna and Kimberly (David) Kosto of Sarasota, Florida; grandchildren, Kyle and Caitlyn Schoors, Dylan and Lillian Hammons, Kelcey and Drew Schmidt, David, Zachary and Leia Kosto; mother, Esther Hammons of Heidrick, KY; sisters, Joella (Curtis) Prince of Louisville, KY and Marva Gay (Larry) Davis of Barbourville, KY; sister-in-law, Pauline Hammons of Barbourville, KY; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends may call at the MORELAND FUNERAL HOME, 55 East Schrock Road, Westerville, Friday 4-7 p.m., where service will be held at 7 p.m. Rev. David W. Mason officiating. Additional visitation and funeral service will be held at Knox Funeral Home in Barbourville, KY.
